There are many different types of job training programs and career training that various companies and employers might use. The most common is likely in-house training, in which companies offer training sessions within the work environment where the new employee learns how to perform a variety of duties and tasks and operate certain applications and systems related to the new position. Internships, which are essentially temporary positions within a company, focus on education, teaching, and training, rather than employment, are also popular. Internships can be paid or unpaid. Other common types of job training include job rotation (rotating through different positions), mentoring, co-operative education with college, university, or trade school students, external training (where you learn the job off-site), and computer-based and video-based training.
